Colleen Hicks, Director, gives presentations about the museum and local natives, the Coast Miwoks. Museum of the American Indian was founded in 1967 as a repository for all the materials uncovered during several archeological excavations at Miwok Park. The museum has evolved into an education and cultural center for the Bay Area. Ms. Hicks travels with replicated artifacts and demonstrates Native Life Ways for an interesting and engaging lecture.
